So I have been posting photos I have taken as a feature on my homepage for a while now. I initially wanted to post one a month but you know how life gets in the way of grand ideas! Well I now have a new idea for this area of my website and will most likely be phasing out the photos in their current form. So here is a selection of some of the images that my homepage has been graced with.

Doug Walker animation girlDoug Walker music video girl 2

Well I’ve been in hiding for the past 3 weeks or more…

I have been working really hard on my first full feature StopMotion animation. It is for a music video for Doug Walker.

The animation tells the timeless story of a girl and a boy in love. The song is brilliant, you’ll have to wait to hear it…

It has been amazing fun doing it and working with Doug. What a talented guy.

The animation was produced from hundreds of drawings, hundreds of shapes cut from paper and lots and lots of time. It was a great project to work on and the full video will be released in the near future. I’ll keep you informed.

Well, this guy is all over it when it comes to (re)touching photography.
He is influenced by the surrealist painters and graphic designers like M.C. Escher and Salvador Dali but using the medium
of photography. I think that in painting, your mind can go with the impossible as paintings so often are an expression of reality. But in an age where we rely so much on visual image, one puts their trust in photography as a medium for reality. Erik Johansson flips that on its head and definitely tickles the mind…

I am a sucker for print. I think it is the tangibility that gets me with print. Seeing the world in pixels is just not the same as touching something real. I have posted a few examples of some great print design, a lot of them are done with Letterpress… I am looking for anyone out there who can recommend a printers that do letterpress in the UK. Let me know, in the meantime… enjoy.hammerpress letterpressLetterpressblack and grey printsblack on black business cardbusiness cards

My favourite of the day....

I decided to stick up a PDF I made a while ago as a resource to all you graphic designers out there, especially those working for print.
The design shows all the European Standard ‘A’ print sizes… I think it will be a useful tool for you.
You can download the PDF here

illustration and paint finish for custom Fender Stratocaster

Also, while I am doing my posts…

A lot of people have been asking to see some photos of the Custom paint job done on the Fender Stratocaster. Well here are 2 photos! I carried out the work from concept to completion for Daniel James of the band ‘Starling’. With some help from Ben Stretch on the lacquer spray, I painted the plain white Strat myself using Autopaint, a lot of sandpaper, acryllic and NitroCellulose lacquers as well as the old trusty radiator enamel paint! It all shined up nicely and looks great on stage…
