Yeah, so I was on a flight over to Dublin the other night. And there was a natural phenomenon!

It was pitch black outside (it was 11.45PM) and we were flying over the Irish Sea in a bandy, rattled old Ryanair plane (2p flights! Can’t go wrong!) and when we got up above the clouds, there was light! It was really really bright up there, but above the clouds… even though it was night time. I don’t know what it was because the sun has set, but the sky itself was lit up in some beautiful colours. I reached for my camera and this is all I got!! It was a pretty cool experience though. I will be posting some photos of my trip to my Flickr account soon.

Designer of the week for this week is a motion graphics delight!

Fill your Visual belly with the work of Maxim Zhestkov. He is a 22 year old director, motion graphic artist and animator from Russia. He is on Flickr too. Please check this guys work out. He is really really fresh talent.

He has worked with Simon Pyke from Freefarm, who is the brother of Matt Pyke from Universal Everything, one of my favourite inspirations in Motion graphics….and a Northerner too! There’s a nice interview with him on the Computer Arts website.

Nando Costa Work

I just had to blog this, Wicked video by Nando Costa, the brazillian artist. He has a phenomenal amount of classy work and I love it, Very inspiring and a real example of cultural awareness and culture affecting design. Brilliant at colour combinations and outstanding design. Did I mention I really like this guys work?

Nice Poster Designs

I’ve been meaning to blog this for a while now. I was on Flickr recently and found this designer.

His work is really really good, I’ve been getting into my hand-rendered typography again recently for a couple of custom illustration projects I’ve been doing. I’m working on some illustrations for a musician friend of mine and these have inspired me, even though my work is not type, i love this stuff.

He has created some very stunning compositions and has a great grasp of type and layout. Nice Graphic Dezign!

Designer of the Week

Hi I’m going to start a new feature, of Designer of the Week.

I want to boost the profile of this blog but also wanting to  boost profiles of up and coming artists, designers and motionographers. A couple of great sites that I love to look for new talent is Ffffound! and Mograph.

Magnitude Nominated for 2 Webby Awards!

Magnitude have been nominated for a Webby award (that’s like the Oscars for the web).

We have been nominated in the Restaurants category for the work we have done for the Wagamama brand site and Me and My Bod Innovative Campaign site.

I have been working hard on the Me+My Bod site recently and also have produced the New Wagamama Me and My Bod Viral Video which can be seen on VIMEO and YouTube.… Enjoy… and make comments etc too! Adam Glynn-Finnegan.

Faber-Castell sponsorship

Great News! I have received sponsorship from Faber-Castell Ireland for a project I am working on. It’s pretty rad as we are the only project to be sponsored in Ireland.

Hi readers!

Just an update on what I am doing at the moment. I have finished all Uni work, finished my very wordy dissertation about Ethics and Advertising. www.EthicallyMinded.co.uk has sprung from this (watch this space).

I am currently working for MAGNITUDE, in Harrogate, North Yorkshire as a graphic designer. It is good craic. Working with some great people, animators, designers and developers in one of the countries leading digital agencies (www.magnitude.co.uk) working with some great clients (Wagamama, Hairspray movie, LandRover, M+Ms) so that’s cool.
